“Our model is accessible and affordable on purpose; it wasn't designed for 2020 but proved to be resilient in the face of it.”

Dr. Doug Logan

Grimké Seminary trains pastors in the church, by the church, and for the church. It is unique because it works directly with churches to train leaders for their specific contexts—it is pastors leveraging their experience to train pastors for the church. Grimké Seminary aims to bridge the gap between academics and discipleship, between academic training and real-life pastoral ministry. 2020 has been a crazy year, but because of our model (80% online study with 20% in-person intensives), we could stay closely connected with students and continue to recruit easily. Our model is accessible and affordable on purpose; it wasn't designed for 2020 but proved to be resilient in the face of it.

— Dr. Doug Logan, Acts 29 Associate Director & President of Grimké Seminary

EQUIP

“The training is theologically clear, missionally driven, and pastorally helpful. My team has benefited already and will continue to do so as we prepare more church planters using this training in the future."

Travis Cunningham

Amid a rapidly changing and increasingly hostile world, we need deep discipleship for all our people. EQUIP has been utilized by men and women throughout the nation to profile just that, in states including Minnesota, Washington, Nebraska, Oregon, Texas, California, and Michigan. It has been encouraging to see new cohorts, new students, and new church-planting residents engage with the material even in the midst of lockdown in 2020. While the methods change, the mission stays the same. Make disciples that make disciples that plant churches that plant churches!

— Rob Berreth, Director of EQUIP

  • 914 total students have benefited from EQUIP over the past few years.

  • There are currently 442 students.

  • At least 75 different Acts 29 churches have used EQUIP in the last year.

“If we don’t discern, articulate, and persuade others with the Bible’s blueprint for the flourishing of human life and culture, then others will. . . and are.”

Dr. Dan Strange

Crosslands exists to provide in-context theological training and ministry formation for church planters, pastors, and other ministry leaders serving churches throughout the UK and Europe. We share the Acts 29 distinctives of theological clarity, cultural engagement, and missional innovation. Our model means that church planters can study without moving away from their local context, while those preparing to move abroad for cross-cultural mission and ministry can begin their training at home and continue it wherever and whenever they move. The majority of our students would not be able to access robust, reformed theological education through traditionally established routes.

— Philip Moore, Acts 29 Associate Director and Crosslands Trustee

  • Crosslands currently serves 113 students.

  • Over 90% of students do not live within commuting distance of a suitable training institution.

  • Crosslands students come from the UK, Ireland, Poland, Slovakia, Moldova, France, Italy, Switzerland, Nigeria, Australia, and the US.

  • Around 10% of students are from minority ethnic groups. Around a 25% of students are women, and about 50% of students are over 30 years old.
